LeAnn is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She also has does extensive training in Hypnotherapy and EMDR. She has completed Mediation Training, Advanced Family Mediation and has completed training for Parent Coordination and Parent Facilitation. LeAnn is also available for Guardian ad Litem work in the state of Texas.
LeAnn worked as a school counselor in Pflugerville Independent School District from August of 1989 until May of 2011. During this time, she worked with parents, students and staff in conjunction with her counseling/administrative duties. She taught parenting classes, led trainings on crisis management and worked with parents learning to effectively parent their children. Upon retirement from the school system, she is bringing her expertise to Austin Psychotherapy and Associates.
In conjunction with her work at the school, LeAnn also maintained a private practice working with adults, families and couples. LeAnn’s husband, (Dr. Ron Artis) also see couples together to share their professional and personal experiences of raising four daughters in a blended family.
